WBO bantamweight champion Jorge “Travieso” Arce is having problems finding an opponent for his next scheduled fight on February 10 in Durango, Mexico. So far both Lorenzo Parra and Giovanni Andrade have not been approved as world title challengers by the WBO. “Andrade does not have the merits to be included in any of our rankings,” said WBO President Francisco Varcacel, “therefore the WBO will not sanction this fight. If we sanction a fight between Arce and Andrade, our organization will lose credibility among many. We must maintain a level of prestige. Title fights must be between fighters in our rankings and deserving of a title shot.”
